Canoeing the Pawcatuck River. No talking, Just Nature. ASMR #asmr #canoeing
Paddling the Pawcatuck River in Rhode Island from the Cronan Fishing access to Bradford. This is a nice 8.5 mile paddle that took approximately 3 hours with little to no breaks. It was a nice relaxing paddle through a beautiful area. I condensed the trip into 5 minutes of video for a quick relaxing experience. Hope you enjoy!

    Last time I was there about 20 years ago the golden road was as smooth as the highway and i could cruise at 70 in a 9" lifted 82 Chevy truck, I was told if u meet a logging truck get out of the way but it's better to slow down n pull off because u get in the loose stone on the side it will slide you right off the road.

      Yeah I didn't run into a single truck on the Golden Road but I was on the lookout for them. I did however see them on my last trip to realty road and I just pulled off the side. It's not difficult just means you have to pay attention and give them the road.

      There were the few trees and overhanging obstacles. But no not really. I tried to keep it short but also show just about everything one would have to deal with. The beginning stretches are a bit windy so I'd say be cautious and it'd be fine. Little bit of a lift over right before the rapids on the left and then smooth sailing all the way to the take out

    I do alot of this stuff alone. lived here for 37 years...I was from MA. born and raised. You were speaking of anxiety. Itis just your realization of the nature. When that dials into time. You have used it to get ahead. I did not know what keeps me going at stuff alone, but for peace and quiet.. DNA found I was half acadian and part mik maq. 1% of me has been roaming here for 7000 years. A tip: best bet for fish is look for lakes with at least two rivers, one in and one out.. mtn brooks are the last chance for rainbows and brookies as well... very small, but there is keepers once and awhile. high oxygen ice cold water and fast moving trout..you can imagine how good that tastes. don'tt fish the bottom of still waters here..too much nitrogen. I have used dry ice once and I believe it was on this trip. I put a small amount on the bottom lined with cardboard as suggested. Then the rest of the cooler was filled with a mix of regular ice and ice packs. It worked well. Though I have managed to keep ice for several days using little hacks here and there without dry ice. Using large ice packs or frozen water bottles mixed with cubes and cutting a piece of pink foam for a topper with relectix adds a lot of time to the cooler imo. Most cheaper coolers the lid isn't insulated well

      Thanks Joe! It's pretty heart breaking the way it ended after everything that was invested in it. I could have done better in terms of decision making. But nothing I can do about it now. I appreciate it. I'm working on another piece of the trip now.

    Sweet video dude! Im in between the Aquaglide Blackfoot 130 and the NRS Pike 126 Pro version. You mentioned the Aquaglide in the video, which one would you choose between the two? Are there deal breakers for any? Thanks!

    • @projectknifehand
      @projectknifehand Місяць тому

      Thanks for that! The largest differences are in price, water type, and comfort in my opinion. I still really want to get a blackfoot angler. However, I got the Pike because it is cheaper, comes with a pump, and the footrests are far better. The blackfoot is self bailing though so better for rougher water. The NRS Pike is definitely more of a flat or calm water boat. Better for ponds and sleepy moving water. You can take the blackfoot on rougher stuff. But it costs more, then you have to buy a pump. I wasn't ok with spending nearly 1400 on an inflatable kayak and then immediately having to drop more cash on it just to pump it up lol. They have Amazon air pumps on their site for double what they can be purchased for on Amazon. So that's why I went with the Pike. Better foot rests which were important to me, and it's usable right out of the box with no other purchases.

      @@projectknifehand awesome thanks for the quick reply! Ya im set on the Pike Pro cause it comes with all the accessories as well, which I dont have. Can you stand pretty easily to cast on the Pike? Is it stable enough? Also how is that seat on after a full days of fishing? Comfortable enough?

    • @projectknifehand
      @projectknifehand Місяць тому

      Personally I don't stand when I fish. I'd love to but most of the time even with boats that say you can I find them wobbly. I did stand in the Pike and I was able to. But I didn't feel great doing it. It's an excellent boat and I never felt the need to stand and fish from it. So no help there really. As far as seats go it doesn't get much better. If you want to go the extra mile you can toss a foam pad on it. But I haven't felt the need to. I skipped the pro because I had all the stuff it came with mostly. I did like the fishing crate but I already had a cheap crate I use.

      Thanks for the feedback. Part of what I try to include in my videos is the conversation and moments of frustration. That being said I generally don't take the time to fool with the cameras when I'm in the middle of something. That is, I didn't before. My videos have changed and gotten better I'd argue. There is less useless stuff in them. To answer your question....because I didn't know any better lol. Not a pro, just a dude who likes making videos hah
